Over the years I have studied lots of famous people, from Businesspeople to Ordinary people who have achieved Incredible things, and I found they all had something in common, here are some of my thoughts. Now you may think after reading this what does it have to do with Weight Loss, well everything when you get your mindset wright you get everything wright.

They Expect to Win

Winners expect to win in advance. They see themselves achieving what they want to achieve, already receiving the rewards long before they even happen. It is what you think every minute of every day that determines the results you get in life. If you have a big dream, then those dreams will come true. People often ask how strong your mind is and I answer it this way: in some parts of the world, there are witch doctors that when they point a bone at a member of the tribe and condemn them to death, that member actually believes they will die – their belief in the curse is so strong that they will themselves to die, sometimes taking as little as a week. What the mind believes, the mind achieves. All successful people expect to win, so they do.

 Your Dominant Thoughts

Albert Einstein said imagination is more powerful than knowledge. Imagination rules your life. Winners act like winners. It’s not what you are that holds you back. It’s what you think you are not that holds you back. Yourself image is one the most important qualities you can develop. What do you see when you look in the mirror? Do you see a confident and motivated person? Or do you see someone that could be smarter, a little bit thinner, someone who should spend less time in front of the TV, someone that should be enjoying life more, working on achieving a better life for their family, friends and the community, eating better, exercising more and working towards a goal they have put in place? What is the person in the mirror saying to you? Well, unless it’s positive, stop looking in the mirror.

Developing yourself image is as important to you as it is to others. It’s the law of attraction. If you want people to look at you like a winner, then you have to behave like a winner. There is a price you have to pay, but the rewards far outweigh the price. If you want to attract success in your life, then act like you are successful. Successful people don't have an interest in doing business or associating with someone who has a low self-image of themselves. If you act confident and motivated, then you will attract confident and motivated people. The fact is that people like to be around the same sort of people as themselves. That’s why if you are a drug dealer, you’ll only attract drug users.

 Fear and Desire

Fear is one of the strongest emotions we have. That’s why many people don’t succeed in life. The fear of failure is a lot stronger than the joy of success. Fear will stop you in your tracks every time if you don’t learn how to control fear. All of our emotions are a learned habit. We become slaves to our most dominant thoughts and emotions. Our mind becomes addicted to the very emotion that holds us back. Have heart, there is an answer to the problem. Remember I mentioned the power of the mind. We become what we think about most. It has taken a while to become who you are by repeating the same thoughts over and over again. We have developed what is known as our internal representation of who we are.

So how can we change? Learn to take charge very time you feel fear creeping into your thoughts. Start visualising your dreams. Get excited about your goals. Have the belief you can make it happen and gain more knowledge about what you are doing. Create desire and desire will conquer fear. When you realise fear is only an emotion that is designed to protect you, and not here to hinder, you can start looking at why fear came to you in the first place, and you’ll find that it is a lack of knowledge about what you are doing. The fear that emotion is telling you is to look out for cars before you step on to the road. Fear is just looking out for you, so embrace fear and then start looking for the solutions in the problem, and that’s what will conquer your fear. Remember that knowledge is power.

Conscious and Subconscious

Imagine your mind to be like a computer. Your conscious mind is like the computer screen and the subconscious mind is like the hard drive. Your conscious mind works on information which it has retrieved from the hard drive. It can make certain changes to the information on the screen, but it is the hard drive, your subconscious, which information is retrieved from.

Like the mind, the computer remembers and retrieves the same information over and over again. So, until you go in and clean up your files and replace the old ones with new information, you only retrieve the same fears, the same bad habits and the same indecision. However, if you write new files to replace fear with desire, bad habits with good habits and indecision with decision-making, you will find that when you switch on your computer and start looking for information that you need for a new project, the file you retrieve will be exactly the same files you saved to your subconscious mind. No longer will the old files pop up, but a brand-new set of habits. Another way I can explain how your subconscious works is that it’s like when you learn to ride a bike, you never forget, and the reason is that the memory of riding a bike has been stored into your subconscious mind, so even after years of not riding a bike, you can jump back on, and in no time your subconscious memory takes over and away you go right back to where you were all those years ago.

Your subconscious mind has also created a memory for your mindset. That’s why different people approach most things differently. One person will see something as an opportunity, while another person will see the same thing as a problem. Like riding the bike, your automatic subconscious memories kick in and your results are predetermined by the memories that have been stored in your subconscious mind. If you observe yourself and others, you will quickly witness this event over and over again, and once an event has been observed and recorded to be true, then the solution is only to find the knowledge to solve the problem that is holding you back.

There are many ways you can start the process of changing your current mindset through techniques developed by Neuro Linguistics Programming and meditation and by also setting goals, basing decision on facts rather than emotions.

Moving Beyond Self-Imposed Limitations

Most people's ambitions are limited by the limits they put on themselves. Instead of looking at ways to achieve their goals, they look at ways that their goals won’t come true. Most people look at goal setting as a total waste of time, spend most of their lives watching other people achieving their dreams and goals and calling them lucky. The nonachiever's goal is just to get through each day and as a result they raise enough energy to do just that. As we are constantly moving in the direction of our most dominate thoughts, if you don’t have dreams and goals, you’ll continue to drift where the currents of life take you. With goals, you’ll move in the direction of those dreams and goals.

Action Plan (Your Direction)

An important process is your action plan. What are your dreams and goals? You need dreams and goals to move you in the right direction. We are dream and goal oriented by design. You set a goal, you start to visualise, you start the positive self-talk, and it is at this point whether you succeed or fail. It is at this moment 95% of people stop and allow those old fears of failure to creep into their imagination and self-talk. They look to other people for feedback, only to receive more negativity. Remember they are your goals, so keep them to yourself because unless you ask people that have more informed knowledge than you, the feedback you get from your family and friends will be the same negative views as usual.

Remember they have also been like they are for a long time, so be careful who you share this precious information with. It takes just as much energy to have a bad life as it does to have a great life. You just need to decide what type of life you want. It is like the captain of a cargo ship. He sets a course and knows if he does certain things every day, that even though he may not see his destination for 99% of the journey, he knows as long as he stays on his charted course he will get to his port of call.
